FORMER Hibernian and Celtic striker Derek Riordan is on the lookout for a new club after he was released by League Two outfit East Fife.

The 32-year-old, who boasts three caps for Scotland, joined the Methil outfit in March following a successful trial spell and went on to net two goals in nine appearances.

However, he couldn’t stop the Fifers crashing out of the play-offs last weekend.

Now player/manager Gary Naysmith has made Riordan one of his first casualties as he rebuilds for another tilt at the title next season.

East Fife have also released Caolan McAleer, Daryl Falconer and David Maskrey, as well as ex-Hibs defender Scott Smith.
