OUR subscription special offer is coming to an end at 11.59pm tonight – so you only have a little time left to secure access to The National’s website for a whole YEAR for just £20.
We added several days on to the deal on Monday amid the political shake-up at Bute House to make sure as many people as possible, the length and breadth of Scotland, have a chance to subscribe to our journalism.
It’s now a crux time for the independence movement and whether it’s our Yes Grassroots newsletter and our presence at independence marches, or analysis from the likes of Common Weal, Scotonomics and Lesley Riddoch on the broader questions around a Scotland outside the Union, this offer is a chance to lock in and secure unlimited access to all of that coverage and more.

The National’s editor Laura Webster said: “Midnight marks the end of our special offer so move fast to sign up now if you haven’t already!
“From our breaking news coverage to our exclusives, as well as our fantastic range of newsletters and columnists, there’s never been a better time to subscribe to The National.
“With a new First Minister incoming, we’ll have all the news and analysis you need. Plus, with Keir Starmer appearing set to take up residence in No 10, we’ll be offering reports, perspectives and critique that you won’t find anywhere else.”
And don’t miss our article setting out 20 reasons why it’s worth backing us with a subscription.
To take us up on the offer, all you have to do is visit thenational.scot/subscribe and then sign up to the annual deal for our Website Only pack.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
