MANY people watching PMQs will have spotted that the leader of the Labour Party is wearing a green heart.

Keir Starmer clashed with Rishi Sunak over Boris Johnson’s honours list in the House of Commons

But why is Starmer wearing a green heart and what does it represent?

Why is Keir Starmer wearing a green heart?

The heart commemorates victims of the Grenfell Tower disaster which took place on June 14 2017.

The UK Government has pledged to support a “fitting and lasting memorial” to honour the 72 people who died.

The heart was created to honour all those who were impacted by the tragedy.

On a Facebook page called Grenfell speaks, it is said that the heart is a symbol of “hope, unity and love” and “to remember those that were lost on June 14 2017”.

Stephen Flynn also paid tribute to the victims of Grenfell during his question at PMQs.
