THE SNP’s enemies are beside themselves with joy, as their persistence has taken out both the First Minister and chief executive of the SNP (Nicola Sturgeon reacts to Peter Murrell’s resignation, Mar 18).

If the SNP crashes, the real power behind their imagined success will move rapidly while they are still celebrating their hollow victory, in fact so rapidly that they will not even realise that they are no longer sovereign Scots but subjects of the Westminster parliament.

Soon they will be facing the reality of living in the most impoverished energy-rich country in the world on “Levelling Up” handouts from the Westminster government from the United Kingdom’s massive income, from its resources of renewable energy, that is of course mainly derived from what could have been the natural assets of an independent Scotland.
