I MANAGED to watch the hustings from Dumfries and was heartened to hear the responses to the thoughtful and sometimes emotional questions from the floor (the contribution from the young farmer from the area was particularly poignant).
The three candidates all impressed with their concise, honest answers to some very important questions and I am of the opinion that this demonstrates the talent available to the SNP.

This is a refreshing and positive encouragement on the path to independence and stands in sharp contrast to the depressing rubbish spouted in and by the Unionist media – led, as ever, by the BBC – and the abysmal Douglas Ross along with his Labour/LibDem acolytes.
If anything I thought that Humza shaded it, with Kate very close. So all still to play for as far as I am concerned!

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
