I SEE Alistair union Jack, appointed by the government in London to preside over Scottish affairs and anointed by Boris Johnson to enter the House of Lords, has been once again trotting out the Tory mantra that the SNP do not respect the outcome of the 2014 independence referendum.

May I point out to Mr Jack that it is not the SNP but rather the Scottish electorate, whose sovereignty is enshrined in the Claim of Right, that have steadfastly striven for a second referendum on independence. Personally I feel in no way bound to accept the result of the 2014 referendum and find no reason to respect an outcome that was gained by means of lies, threats and false promises.

The sooner we have our referendum and can begin the inevitable process of separation from this toxic Union, the better it will be for Scotland and all its people.
