BORIS Johnson is on the hyper-publicist track again. Posturing on the issue of being reliant on Russian oil in the past (PM: West must end addiction to Russian energy and starve Putin of war funds, March 15).

He does do the shape-shifting schtick at times.

However, going to the Saudis who are pulverising Yemen with UK weaponry – the Saudis who have human rights violations seen as the norm – is very ironic.

He omits one point. The Tory party and individual party members and ministers have accepted Russian money. In fact, their reliance on Russian oligarchs has been revealed. Sooking up, fawning and promoting one to the Lords seems not to strike Johnson as odd now.

Johnson is a peddler of half-truths and lies! Dissembling through selective silence on the Tories’ past and present misdeeds will not change his discredited image, no matter how he tries to reinvent his torrid image.

He never changes.
