Most households in the UK could face a 14% rise in energy bills next year. The Government is also increasing National Insurance contributions by 1.25%. There is a shortage of HGV drivers which may lead to an increase in food prices. Last but not least, the £20 uplift in Universal Credit is soon to be scrapped.

All of those aforementioned facts will disproportionately hit the poorest in our population the hardest. Many will have to, quite literally, choose between heating and eating this winter.
