HOW is Dominic Raab dealing with the crisis in Afghanistan? Or rather: Is Dominic Raab dealing with the crisis in Afghanistan at all?

In this week’s video column, The National’s Lesley Riddoch puts the UK’s Foreign Secretary under the microscope, and asks how the man who was lazing on a beach as Kabul fell can possibly stay in the role.

The UK Government may claim that Raab didn’t do anything as nothing could be done anyway, but will the public really fall for that line?

The top Tory, promoted beyond his competence to the Foreign Secretary role, claimed that “no-one” could have seen the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan coming.

The evidence however, which Lesley goes through in detail, tells a very different story.

But the wanton abandonment of the very people in Afghanistan the UK Government promised to protect is only half the story, as the Home Office has its own insults to add on top of the Foreign Office’s.

Finally, Lesley asks, what can we do to help?
