IT may have been easy to miss the latest revelations about former prime minister David Cameron’s lobbying amidst the cacophony of scandals coming from the Tory government - so The National’s Lesley Riddoch is casting her perceptive eye over it in this week’s video column.

Riddoch looks at the reported $10 million the former Conservative chief raked in lobbying for financial firm Greensill and asks, why did he need all that money anyway?

Cameron was born into wealth, married into wealth, and came into wealth. He was already richer than the vast majority of us could ever hope to be - and could still take home the healthy allowance of over £100,000 the British state gives former prime ministers.

Through the lens of Cameron’s greed, Riddoch asks if that isn’t endemic in all the posh, rich boys that the English electorate seem so eager to vote for time and time again.

Is it something they’re born with, or something taught to them behind the walls of exclusive public schools across these islands?

And why don’t voters in Scotland fall for the same wiles?
