DOES D Ross lend out his crystal ball? He seems sure that Covid will be gone completely and schools will be back to normal in August – why else would he be demanding the FM tells us now what will happen next year? This is the difference between being in government and in opposition, when you don’t want to cooperate and are determined to find something to complain about.
Meanwhile the UK Government has been spending taxpayers’ money on flags – we’ve all seen them suddenly draped behind every Tory on TV. The size of the flag shows your commitment to Unionism.

In 2019-20 they spent £455, in 2020/21 £1999 and so far this year £2600 – and these are used even when ministers are only talking about England and Covid restrictions. Can you imagine the Tories if we in Scotland were doing the same? Same with the use of Covid funding to seek out views on independence – but in the meantime Scotland cannot even say the word. More proof if needed – it is one rule for the Westminster establishment and another for the rest of us.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
