THE Scottish Parliament has started to confirm the new conveners and deputy conveners of Holyrood committees.

The 16 committees met this morning to agree the line-ups, after MSPs agreed to delay their setting up earlier this month.

Under Holyrood rules some mandatory committees are supposed to be announced within three weeks of an election, but members agreed to extend this to 30 days.

These are the committee conveners and deputy conveners announced by Holyrood so far today.

Finance and Public Administration Committee

Convener: Kenneth Gibson (SNP)
Deputy convener: Daniel Johnson (LAB)

Standards, Procedures and Public Appointments Committee

Convener: Martin Whitfield (LAB)
Deputy convener: Bob Doris (SNP)

Criminal Justice Committee

Convener: Audrey Nicoll (SNP)
Deputy convener: Russell Findlay (CON)

Net-Zero, Energy and Transport Committee

Convener: Dean Lockhart (CON)
Deputy convener: Fiona Hyslop (SNP)

Rural Affairs, Islands and Natural Environment Committee

Convener: Findlay Carson (CON)
Deputy convener: Liam McArthur (LIBDEM)

Delegated Powers and Law Reform Committee

Convener: Stuart McMillan (SNP)
Deputy convener: Bill Kidd (SNP)

Health, Social Care and Sport Committee

Convener: Gillian Martin (SNP)
