WE are invited by Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh to believe there is a seven-year-old line in the sand from which point the SNP experienced “an intellectual and strategy vacuum” (Starmer is why Johnson has survived Cummings’s Exocets, June 2).

For much of this time and for a preceding period, Tasmina was at the heart of her newly discovered vacuum as the NEC member acting as women’s and equalities conveyor. If she is right that “cosy careerists have been allowed to feast” then she should have some first-hand knowledge of that.

The political flibbertigibbet that is revealed by the quickest analysis of Tasmina’s political journey is well documented. Having described her mentor and effective employer Alex Salmond as “hopelessly out of his depth” and “utterly naive”, I am bound to conclude that she is not someone who demonstrates a consistent or reliable guide to matters political.

Commentators often draw time frames around an issue that suit their purpose of the moment and to mitigate the inconvenience of a bigger picture. Nae luck Tas.
