ISN’T it politically naive for Jenny Gilruth to encourage Scottish cities and towns to apply to be the 2025 UK City of Culture, surely just an example of a UK union desperate to promote itself; the very Union Jackery many Scots struggling for independence have come to deplore?

Why do we Scots need to stoop to such an insular Tory project when Scotland is working to break the chains of the UK so it can look outwards to European and global dimensions, to take our culture forward internationally?
