IN this vital Holyrood election I trust people will vote for candidates and the party that will do the best for their communities and for Scotland. With First Minister Nicola Sturgeon we have a person of proven worth, competence and leadership, in stark contrast to the lies and deceit of Boris Johnson and his government mired in corruption and cronyism. Trust is key in comparing Holyrood and Westminster!
In recent UK elections the SNP vote has been massive, yet we suffer Tory governments. We vote to remain in the EU, yet suffer Brexit. We vote against Trident, yet suffer nuclear bomb shipments, and as a wealthy nation we suffer the tragic proliferation of food banks.

Post-pandemic, let us work to put Scotland’s recovery in Scotland’s hands. Against desperate Unionist lies, hope will triumph over fear, as there is absolutely no doubt that Scotland is rich and smart enough to become an independent nation again. On Thursday vote SNP, with a clear mandate for Indyref2, working towards a new, greener and fairer Scotland in contact with all people in the British Isles, Europe and the world.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
