IT comes as no surprise that Baroness Davidson feels she can ignore the Covid guidance and travel wherever she wants to campaign for the ever-dwindling number of Tories in Scotland.
The campaign Covid guidance is clear – don’t travel outside your local constituency or council area unless you’re a party leader. She is neither a candidate nor a party leader. She is simply another waste of space – soon to be taking a seat in the political retirement home of the House of Lords. She has given up on democracy and prefers to flounce around with a dead ferret draped across her shoulders.

While we are still part of this Union we have to put up with this anti-democratic nonsense but it doesn’t give Davidson or any of her unelected cronies the right to ignore Covid rules. I would hope – but don’t expect – the UK media to give her the same treatment handed out to Margaret Ferrier MP. We need out of this Union ASAP – recovery from the impact of Covid won’t happen while we’re tied to London.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
