SOCIAl media and even right-wing newspapers like the Daily Mail are awash with stories of remarks made by the Prime Minister that would be distressing even if they emanated from a tinpot dictator of a banana republic. Even though this congenital con artist and amoral wretch has demonstrated his unfitness for office consistently throughout his political career, it is nonetheless quite staggering to read that even he could be so callous and disrespectful about human life.

As is the norm with Boris Johnson, a quick bit of research reveals that he has previously made similarly horrifying and offensive comments. In 2017, when discussing UK businesses wishing to invest in Libya to turn Sirte into “the next Dubai”, the Prime Minister is believed to have said that “the only thing they will have to do is clear the dead bodies away.”

Despite this, the principal issue here is not whether or not Mr Johnson actually said “let the bodies pile high in their thousands” about a possible third wave of UK infections but the fact that he has indeed allowed this to happen through gross mismanagement, unprecedented appalling leadership and institutionalised governmental corruption.

Irrespective of the Prime Minister’s future it is clear that the Scotland and Westminster are worlds apart ethically and in terms of respect for human dignity. Let’s do the right thing on May 6 and vote overwhelmingly for Scottish independence.
