I’D like to scream from the rooftops for a little caution from public figures in the SNP when sharing their thoughts on the new Alba Party. I’m with Selma Rahman (Letters, March 29). I can barely stand another day of this and if my heid birls any more it will permanently depart from my shoulders.

It is blindingly obvious that negative statements about Alba from the SNP or anyone in the independence movement will be picked up without hesitation by Unionists politicians and media. They have nothing else to say to voters and will use these comments to present our election as a nationalist feud and totally ridicule Scotland. It is very possible that an already jaded electorate may walk away.

Why do we keep doing the opposition’s job for them? Why do we keep letting this happen? Why do we keep presenting our opponents with tools to destroy us? Enough is enough.
