WE know the Project Fear campaign was all about lying to the Scottish public – especially pensioners – trying to scare them into voting No. The whole basis of the campaign was to scare voters with smears, fears and lies.

The people behind this campaign realised that open debate wouldn’t get them the votes they wanted so they instead worked hard to frighten as many voters as possible.

It’s bad enough that they can get away with such tactics in a democracy so it’s no surprise whatsoever that the same people can turn up in Hong Kong to try to whitewash the attacks on democracy there (Better Together guru to spin for Hong Kong, August 19).

It seems some people don’t care about values like truth or democracy and will dance to the tune of anyone who signs their cheques. They aren’t concerned about the damage they’ve caused Scotland and I’m sure they’ll not give a damn about the violence and imprisonment meted out to democracy protesters in Hong Kong. Remember this when the real battle for indyref2 starts.
