OH dear, the sun must be getting to Lord Digby Jones (Lord humiliates himself in furious Twitter rant at Nicola Sturgeon, thenational.scot, August 15).
Having apparently moved on from his obsession about the First Minister’s hairdo, he now claims her approval ratings are good simply because she spends “England’s money”. He also highlights his ignorance of Scottish education by saying she should be sorting out the A-level results in Scotland, which of course are not part of Scottish educational awards.

Yet again Lord Digby Jones highlights the money that is wasted on the House of Lords. Is he really value for money – holding a job for life, £300 plus expenses for every time he simply shows up, and no opportunity for the public to kick him out of office? Every time he tweets about the First Minister and Scotland he gets all his facts wrong. What qualification did he have to get into the House of Lords – were they short of clowns?
At least we should be thankful, for every time Digby Jones opens his mouth more and more people are realising the House of Lords has to go.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
