AS expected, the Unionist press theme yesterday featured an accusation that our First Minister’s response to the latest Westminster actions regarding Covid-19 is “shameful”.

The political career of Boris Johnson is distinguished by subterfuge, deceit, hypocrisy and nothing less than bullying when all else fails. It is he who should be ashamed of his actions since the demise of Mrs May, including for example conniving at bringing the Queen into a hopeless withdrawal.

It is very likely that he and his collegiate time-servers have already assessed the acceptable population loss in the event of a return of Covid-19 if his policy result as experienced by Leicester is repeated in other parts of England. It is he who has relegated the crisis into disreputable party politics and for that he should, if he had any scruples at all, be ashamed and then apologise to “the whole of the UK”. His ability in that regard is doubtful!
