ANDREW Learmonth’s article “Sturgeon blasts ‘disgraceful’ Tory call to sack Health Secretary” (June 9) certainly exposes the panic in the ranks of the Scottish Tory party.

Why did Jackson Carlaw not call for Boris Johnson to sack Dominic Cummings for his flagrant disregard of the “lockdown” rules, and yet he has the temerity to call for the sacking of the Scottish Health Secretary Jeane Freeman?

I wonder what heinous crime she has committed. Perhaps her close working relationship with the FM and their unstinting efforts to protect the Scottish NHS and prevent the spread of the coronavirus is what really upsets the Scottish Tories.

The overwhelming support of the the people in Scotland is obvious from the partially deserted streets and the respect shown for social distancing.

It may well be that Jackson Carlaw has a problem with the fact that there are so many extremely intelligent, capable, hard-working and dedicated politicians in the SNP.

WHAT a compliment from Jackson Carlaw to the Scottish Government’s team handling the fight against the virus – the Scottish Tories demanding the resignation of the Health Secretary because someone, somewhere in the chain put the wrong date in a letter, email or SMS a couple of months ago.
