JIM Lynch in his letter on Wednesday makes the point very well about fragmenting the independence cause.

At no time in the past has the goal of independence been as close as it is today, so a united and strong message is a must for the future. Like Jim Lynch, I have been in the SNP for many years. I well remember the error of my ways in the early 1970s when the Labour Party of Scotland was established and denied the SNP an election win in the 1973 Dundee East by-election.

Perhaps those at the forefront of establishing those other parties ready for the 2021 Holyrood election may want to pause for a moment and ask themselves at what price?

The price could be creating division amongst the voters, a split in the independence vote, threatening an SNP majority at the 2021 Holyrood elections, a price too high to pay for all of us who seek independence.
