WHILE I applaud Yes Moffat’s event to “shine a light” for Scotland and I think Alyn Smith is terrific, I have already decided to do the exact opposite at the precise time we are taken out of the EU against our will (Yes group concocts plan to counter Brexit events, January 18). Sorry.
Every light etc in my home will be switched off at that time in protest. I also do not subscribe to any TV channels from which I am going to be forced to watch any “celebrations” in London.

Brexit and its initiators as far as I am concerned are big business and the rich of the “UK” who live here, or deliberately do not. I can at least feel I will hit them where it hurts – their profit margins. (I am considering taking this action on a regular basis).
This is all about money. I now make deliberate choices about how I spend mine. I can only suggest that this kind of action, especially after Brexit, if done en masse, may have a better impact when it comes to shareholders’ meetings at companies that are out for everything they can get from the people with the most to lose after Brexit.
Good luck to everyone who decides to make some kind of protest on January 31.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
