SO after seeing lots of arguments on Twitter about there being no mandate for a second independence referendum after this General Election because the SNP did not achieve 50% of the vote, I had a look at the 2011 Scottish Parliament election.
Strange how this delivered a similar percentage of the vote for SNP (<50%) as last week’s General Election, which at the time was deemed to be a mandate.
Pathetic strategy of the Unionists to move the goal posts because they know that at the next vote they’ll most certainly lose.

I have No-voting friends interested in joining me at the AUOB march in January and also one who is “not political”. It would appear there could be a wave of support coming in the direction of the Yes voters who acknowledge that a General Election winner rarely achieves 50% of the vote but as victor they can claim endorsement of their manifesto.
Unionists continuing to deny our mandate may do us more favours than they realise.
