YOUR front page headline, “Davidson hints at bid to be an MP in future return to politics” and Andrew Learmonth’s article, “Davidson eyes up Westminster seat” (December 9) make interesting reading.

It could suggest that the former leader of the Scottish Conservatives is expecting that on Thursday the Scottish Tories will lose many of their Scottish seats. She can rightly claim that as she was not the leader of the party, therefore the blame lies with Boris Johnson.

Unfortunately for Ruth Davidson she will be remembered for her anti-all-things-Scottish approach, which may be appreciated by the hierarchy of the party in London.

Perhaps she should face the reality that she has been a political failure, and seek new opportunities in the private sector where she will have to earn her salary as distinct from living off of the Scottish taxpayers!
