PRESIDENT Trump has proclaimed at the United Nations that the nation state is the way forward rather than the collective. He seems to be directing this at the EU.
Well, if he really thinks this through then the obvious continent to apply this is his own; the United States of America.

I suggest he appoints his chief rabble-rouser Steve Bannon, and the UK can donate him Dominic Cummings and, please god, Boris Johnson with assistance from Michael Gove and Jacob Rees-Mogg. Together they can surely ensure the USA is dissolved into 50 separate nation states: the ultimate democracy for President Trump.
Oh, and by the way, by the obvious geography he could, and should, donate or sell Alaska to Canada. That ought to help with climate-change problems.
This is not tongue-in-cheek. If President Trump wants to see erosion of collective government in our continent then he must surely apply the same reasoning to his own, the USA.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
