Is it possible that when the media and Unionist parties talk of the “once-in-a-generation decision” in relation to the Scottish independence vote of 2014, they are getting mixed up with the 2016 EU vote? An off-the-cuff remark by one politician in 2014 does not compare with the considered position of the UK Government published in 2016. Consequently, those advocating a second EU vote cannot logically deny a second independence vote.
