THE recent offer by President Trump’s office to fast-track a trade deal with the UK is clearly a trap. As soon as a couple of sectors have been agreed and implemented as described by the president’s office, the UK has lost any, already weak, negotiating power it may have had.

Why is the USA so keen to set a deal in motion with the UK? The answer is: £130 billion, and rising, which supports our National Health Service every year.

Bear in mind that the Tories have already privatised large sections of the NHS in England and would like to complete the project. Handing it over to USA insurance companies would eliminate a festering sore, as they see it, for a Tory government. Such an outcome would also put devolution of the Health Service at risk from this current far-right Government.
