AM I just being pedantic or does anyone else notice how often Westminster politicians refer to Britain? Strictly speaking the country they mean (or do they?) is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (handily shortened to the UK!).

It happened again when Tory MPs were being interviewed on Tuesday night. If I were from Northern Ireland I’d also be pretty fed up to see that 58% of said Tory MPs would give up Northern Ireland in order achieve Brexit.

Perhaps we should ask them to reconsider their own name of “Conservative and Unionist Party”. Let’s drop the Unionist, because if 63% would also give up Scotland in order to get Brexit then they are clearly not Unionist.

Their language betrays their true intentions at every turn. Great news! Independence anyone?
