Scotland's most scammed postcodes have been revealed after new data was published on which areas in the UK are targeted most by scam calls.
Calls by fraudsters, also known as Vishing, can trick unsuspecting people out of their hard-earned money in various ways.
The VoIP and business broadband experts at Bionic, have looked at Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and Action Fraud data to see which areas are targeted by scam calls the most.
They also analysed what kinds of scams the criminals posed the most as well as the estimated amount of money an average scam call costs each area.
Edinburgh has been named as the 4th most common city in the UK for scam calls, receiving 408 total scams.
The ICO reported that 110 of these calls were from sham Broadband companies.
Only London, Reading and Southampton received more calls than the Scottish capital.
It's not all bad news though as the study revealed that Scotland reported the least vishing calls compared to the rest of the country and it also reported the second smallest economic loss.
The study estimated that the cost per one phone scam call in Scotland is £119 compared to London's which was £317 per call.
