A man who tweeted his outrage to a halal label on Warburtons bread has been ridiculed.
The label on the much loved bread states that the loaf is both halal and kosher. But it was the halal label that seemed to cause one Twitter user to go into meltdown.
@people_paul posted, “Warburtons bread is now HALAL certified- why do 96% of population have to have Islamic Halal put onto them in their lives & effectively overriding their own religions just because 4% want it?”

Thankfully Twitter was on hand to give us the following fantastic responses
I can't sleep. The Halal bread is haunting my dreams. All I can do is cry thinking about those poor gluten molded by oppression of Sharia law into the perfect texture of soft inside but crispy outside.

I work as one of the delivery drivers and when I take the bread to stores I personally open each loaf and make a prayer over each slice in the mosque car park.

I'm glad to know my bread has been slaughtered in accordance with Islamic customs 🙃

PAUL YOU WILL NOT BECOME MUSLIM BY EATING SOMETHING #halal. It does not work like that.

How has "Islamic Halal" been put on you?
How is your faith overridden by a label on a loaf of bread?😐
Why aren't you stressed out by the vegan or kosher labels?
However thanks for the info https://t.co/R96gvipyl0
I stun my bread with a bolt gun so that it doesn't suffer during toasting, like it says in the bible.

Imagine being offended by bread. Being right-wing sounds absolutely exhausting.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
