This week the Met Office has issued weather warnings across the country as we face back-to-back storms.

Storm Dudley is the first of the two storms which will mainly impact Scotland and the North West with amber warnings issued as winds could reach 90mph.

Following Dudley is Storm Eunice that will impact the whole of England and parts of Wales with very strong winds across the area.

With the storms expected to create a lot of damage to areas and property, we've rounded up some tips to use from experts at Safestyle.

How to protect your home from Strom Dudley and Eunice:

1. Make sure every window is locked and sealed closed

The strong winds from the storm can cause excessive pressure placed on your windows that, if strong enough can force your windows open.

To make sure this doesn't happen you need to check there are no obvious entry points by making sure that all windows are sealed and locked shut.

2. Avoid using duct tape to seal gaps in windows

If you have a gap around your window you may be tempted to cover them over with some duct tape.

But the tape doesn't actually help protect windows it will just cover the gaps and still let wind into your home.

3. Make sure there are no loose items outside your home

Ahead of the storm spend time cleaning your garden and front drive of any loose items that could be lifted by strong winds.

This could be anything from loose branches, the bins to even the barbeque but especially any glass that could cause serious damage.

4. Invest in energy-efficient windows

If you live in an area that is commonly hit with strong winds and storms, then it might be worth investing in new stronger windows.

Whether they be triple-glazed windows with strong locks, they will ensure that the strong winds will not force the windows open.
