Rangers are "set" to miss out on Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry.
Ibrox boss Derek McInnes had targeted the 21-year-old earlier in the window, and Rangers made a permanent offer for the former Arsenal academy prospect, but this was rejected by the Seagulls.
Instead, Brighton decided to extend Cozier-Duberry's contract, preferring to send him out on loan for first-team football. Per Sky Sports, Middlesbrough are now reportedly winning the race for his signature, despite interest from 12 Championship clubs.
West Ham were also monitoring the former Arsenal academy prospect, but his decision is thought to depend on which club offers the most game time.

Ex-Rangers ace Nathan Patterson set for Serie A transfer as Everton accept bid
Michael Carrick's Middlesbrough appear to have the upper hand, reportedly being given the nod to arrange a medical and complete a deal.
This move will be a setback for Rangers, who were hoping to boost their squad with some pace and creativity.
While the winger looks set for a move, Brighton themselves are preparing for changes as Millwall winger Femi Azeez is expected to join the Premier League club in a deal worth up to £15 million.
