Celtic face competition from Argentinian side Estudiantes de La Plata to land their former loan star Marcelo Saracchi.
The full back was officially placed on the transfer list by Boca Juniors this week and is free to leave the club.
Hoops boss Martin O'Neill confirmed the champions would like to bring Saracchi back to Glasgow, where he played a big part on loan last term as Celtic clinched a double.
However, they face a serious challenge from ambitious Estudiantes de La Plata, who have former Manchester United ace Juan Sebastian Veron as president.

They have made contact with Boca to see if they can reach an agreement over either a loan or a permanent move.
Reports in Argentina suggest Saracchi would rather go on loan again than a permanent move because he still wants to remain a Boca player.
The Uruguayan stopper still has 18 months left of his deal with Boca and has also attracted interest from other clubs in South America.
