RESIDENTS were left stunned after a low-flying military aircraft roared over North Lanarkshire, with one local describing the unexpected flyover as “frightening.”
The German aircraft was heard and seen passing over parts of Glasgow and North Lanarkshire on Monday evening, sparking confusion and concern among people who rushed to check what was going on.
A resident from Bellshill told the Glasgow Times: "I was just in from work when I heard this really loud rumbling noise coming from outside.
"It was quite frightening.

"At first I thought it might be a helicopter heading to Uddingston to help with the fire at the MOT garage, but when I checked flight radar, it showed that it was a German Air Force plane."
Screenshots shared with the Glasgow Times show the aircraft tracking over Glasgow before heading off towards an unknown location, leaving locals wondering why it was in the area.
