SEVERAL thousand Scots are expected to take part in an independence march and rally this weekend, with the First Minister addressing the crowd alongside a whole host of speakers.
With six weeks until the country heads to the polls, activists from across the country are heading to the capital to be part of the annual Believe in Scotland march and rally.
Singers and poets will also be joining the rally, with folk and Gaelic music performances taking place as well as a reading in Scots.

We've put together everything you need to know ahead of the event.
When and where is the Believe in Scotland march in Edinburgh?
The marchers will start to gather from 11:30am on the Royal Mile by Parliament Square, to begin at 12:00pm.
Soar Alba Pipes and Drums will lead the march down the Royal Mile, with the rally taking place on Calton Hill.
Who is speaking at the Scottish independence rally and when?
John Swinney will be joined by a long list of speakers, including actor Brian Cox, broadcaster Lesley Riddoch and Scottish Greens co-leaders Gillian Mackay and Ross Greer.
The event will also be hosted by presenter and Scots language champion Alistair Heather.
Musician Kevin Gore will open the event, with human rights lawyer Aamer Anwar and Scots Scriever Taylor Dyson taking to the stage afterwards.
Believe in Scotland founder Gordon MacIntyre-Kemp will speak ahead of the First Minister.

Who are Believe in Scotland?
Believe in Scotland is the national grassroots campaign for Scottish independence.

It has 143 affiliated local independence campaign groups and says it "exists to reach out to undecided voters and to help coordinate, fund and support the needs of the grassroots Yes movement on a local and national level".
The organisation does not support any political party but last year signed an agreement with the SNP to "work together to advance independence as the democratic will of the Scottish people".
