A CALL for donations to businesses affected by the Glasgow Central fire has already led to tens of thousands of pounds being raised.
Fire crews are still dousing a building next to Scotland’s busiest train station as Glaswegians process their shock after the 19th century building partially collapsed following the blaze on Sunday night.
Many businesses have tragically been destroyed in the fire too, with several of them already setting up fundraisers.

Levi McIntyre only opened their business Crybaby Hairclub in January and described the situation as “devastating” on their fundraising page – which is here.
“I poured my savings into building that space. The studio was special, it was next door to my bestie CJ at Tangible Hairdressing, and if you were lucky enough to see it, you knew just how special it was,” they wrote.
“In time, there will be a new space, and I hope it can capture the magic of our old studio. For now I just want to rebuild my kit to get back to working behind the chair. So many salons have reached out to help host us all during this transitional time. Thank you.”
Nicole Henderson's business, AC Studios – a nail shop – is also one of those affected.
Posting to Facebook, she said she is "facing the reality of having to start completely from scratch”.
She added: "I’m sharing this with a really heavy heart. I run my nail business from AC Studios, which I share with Emily, and after a devastating fire in the building we’ve lost everything.
"Our workspace, equipment and products, everything we built our businesses around has been destroyed. Our studio isn’t just where we work, it’s our livelihood and something we’ve both poured so much time, money and love into.
"Right now we’re facing the reality of having to start completely from scratch."
Nicole has set up a fundraiser which can be found here.
"If anyone is able to donate, even the smallest amount, it would mean the world to us and help us begin rebuilding what was lost. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this would help more than you know,” she said.
"Thank you so much for the kindness and support during such a difficult time."
Sam Hendry, the owner of Samuse Studio, which was also destroyed, said: “I set up Samuse Studio in January 2024 from all my own savings and invested my life into creating this space. I have now lost everything, my kit which I spent years building up and was expensive as I tried to offer my clients the best makeup products possible on the market.”
They added: “I have lost everything in a blink of an eye due to this catastrophe and I need to start from scratch. Any help from anyone that has the ability to do so will go towards replacing my kit and finding a new space to work from and the furnishings to help with this.”
