A CHURCH minister is under disciplinary investigation in Glasgow over several allegations.
Reverend Brian Casey announced his shock departure from Springburn Parish Church in North Glasgow, and from the Church of Scotland (CoS) on December 31, 2025.
The church has now revealed that Rev Casey is on "administrative suspension from his duties" while the allegations are being investigated by the presbytery.
The CoS confirmed to our sister paper the Glasgow Times that the former Springburn minister was suspended pending an investigation into multiple allegations, but would not divulge what they were.
It is understood that the allegations are not regarded as breaches of the law.

Rev Casey had been a minister at Springburn Parish Church for 11 years before announcing his departure on Hogmanay.
There was a petition launched in February 2025 titled 'Urge the Church of Scotland to Keep Rev Brian Casey at Springburn Post.'
It came amid the start of presbytery planning proposals under CoS's Glasgow's Mission Plan to merge a number of parishes across the city.
Those proposals have now moved forward and are set to see Colston Wellpark Church close, with the congregations from there and Tron St Mary's merging and congregating at Springburn Parish Church.
Tron St Mary's will stay open as a community hub.
Following this petition, in April 2025, it was reported that Rev Casey "re-branded" as a catholic priest and was incardinated into the Old Catholic Apostolic Church (OCAC) in Easter 2025.
According to the OCAC's website: "Rev Casey is on sabbatical at the moment, and he will take up active ministry in OCAC in the near future."
The Glasgow Times understands, after speaking with parishioners, that Rev Casey had not been working at Springburn Parish Church since around March 2025.
The paper reported on January 1 that Rev Casey had "stepped down" from his role at Springburn Parish Church and was now the Dean of St. Jude’s Christian community.
A spokesperson for the Church of Scotland said: “Rev Brian Casey’s tenure as the minister of Springburn Parish Church came to an end on 31 December 2025 as a result of Presbytery planning decisions.
“He still holds the status of a Church of Scotland minister and is currently on administrative suspension from his duties, pending a disciplinary investigation into a number of allegations.
“This process is ongoing and yet to conclude; therefore, it would be inappropriate to make any further comment.”

Reverend Brian Casey was approached for comment but told the Glasgow Times that he was not permitted to speak to the press by the Church of Scotland during the disciplinary process.
The CoS confirmed that Rev Casey was not allowed to speak with us. A spokesperson said: “In order to protect the integrity of the process, ministers who are subject to disciplinary proceedings are not permitted to engage with the media or give any details about an alleged disciplinary offence until the proceedings have been concluded."
It was previously reported by the Glasgow Times that members of the Springburn congregation claim they've been "bullied into a corner" over the closure of their church.
After a process lasting over 20 years, three churches in Springburn will merge to form one single congregation, while one church will close.
The CoS has said this is part of the wider plan for the city's places of worship, but some within the area say they feel like they've been left without a choice.
Tron St Mary’s, Coston Wellpark, and Springburn Parish churches will be amalgamated following discussions which started in the early 2000s.
The key formal steps in concluding the process have taken place between 2024 and now, which include Rev Casey's departure from the Springburn parish in December.
