A planning application was submitted in December to Glasgow City Council to paint an artwork on a building at 11 Elmbank Street in the city centre, which shows a rail workers alongside a building which resembles the Wallace Monument, Highland cows, and, inexplicably, American bald eagles.
Papers state the new addition would be a "tasteful" mural, which will replace the "existing ugly wall", with officers approved the application on Tuesday, January 11.
However, many have took to social media to point out the artificial elements of the artwork, which The National can confirm is generated by AI.

"Is it just me, or does this proposed mural for Elmbank St look AI-generated?" the initial poster asked in the r/Glasgow subreddit.
"That’s a bald eagle. We don’t get bald eagles in Scotland," one person replied. Some responded that it could be the bots attempt at a sea eagle.
"Looks AI to me," another said, adding: "Not a great start. At least design your own mural to badly paint on the side of a building."
One replied: "I guess the planners aren’t judging artistic merit, but there should be some kind of committee in my opinion to filter out bullshit like this."
Another said: "I have no idea what the thinking behind it is. Might be for tourists who maybe lap that shite up."
The B-listed site is part of a sandstone four-storey terraced property, used as homes.
When approached for comment, proposer Derek Paterson from Balmore Estates Limited told The National: "The AI-generated artwork is only indicative at this stage. Obviously, the eventual design has still to be finalised/refined.
"The keyboard warriors should calm down and focus on what’s important in life!".

The final version of the mural is understood to be created by an artist who has delivered a number of murals around the city centre.
He added: "The design will be based on the idea presented subject to some artistic licence/ input. Your readers (of which I’m one) need to relax. I’m keen to give a positive Scottish feel to the mural and promote all that is positive with our country, so the final design with be checked for authenticity.
"The mural looks a little cluttered in my view, so there may well be less items in the final option. I'm conscious you can’t please all of the people all of the time, and even then you’ll never please some people no matter what, but life is too short to worry!"
The mural is set to be painted this summer.
