EMERGENCY services were called out to an early morning blaze on New Year's Day after a "recklessly set off" firework set two cars alight.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:10am on Trafalgar Street, in Clydebank, affecting the rear gardens of three homes located on Dumbarton Road.
The blaze resulted in damage to two vehicles, a garden shed, and several pieces of outdoor furniture, police said.
Fire crews managed to contain the fire before it could spread to any residential structures.
Investigators believe the fire may have been caused by a firework that was either carelessly ignited or improperly discarded. Authorities are seeking assistance from the public.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are appealing for witnesses following a fire in Clydebank on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
"Around 5.10am, a fire broke out on Trafalgar Street in the rear gardens of three properties on Dumbarton Road. Two cars, a garden shed and furniture have been damaged.
"No one was injured and the fire did not spread to the residential properties. Officers believe the fire may have been started by a recklessly set off or discarded firework.
