AN entire Scottish village has been invited to the Austrian capital by the country's tourist board.
Residents of Dull, in Perthshire, are all set to receive wax-sealed invitations from the Vienna tourist board – along with Viennese goodie bags – on November 29 and 30.
The town, which has around 100 residents, is paired with Boring in Oregon, in the United States.
The Austrian tourist board said it wanted "to bring Dull to Vienna" in January after the festive period "to show how vibrant this season can be".
STV News reports Dull residents will fly out from Edinburgh Airport at the end of January.
They will stay at the iconic Hotel Imperial, which has previously hosted the Rolling Stones and the late Queen Elizabeth.

During their two-day stay, the guests will attend the Vienna Ball of Science, go on exclusive museum tours, as well as a tour of Schönbrunn Palace.
They may also have a potential meeting with the UK ambassador to Austria, Lindsay Skoll.
Norbert Kettner, CEO of the Vienna Tourist Board, has said: “We’re proud of our museums, our concerts, our balls and our winter magic – but we also enjoy a good sense of humour.
“January is often considered the dullest month of the calendar, which is exactly why we wanted to bring Dull to Vienna.
“It’s the perfect opportunity to show how vibrant this season can truly be. We hope many residents will join us, and we’re eager to hear their expert judgement.”
