A SCOTTISH university building has been spray-painted with red paint in a suspected protest over the institution's investment in the arms trade.
The James McCune building at the University of Glasgow was targeted overnight.
While the perpetrators are unknown, the Glasgow University Justice for Palestine Society posted an anonymous video to social media, and said: "We can speculate that this may be related to the court meeting today in which management will, once again NOT discuss divesting from genocide. Long live the intifafa."
Activist group Youth Demand previously “used fire extinguishers to spray the James McCune Smith Learning Hub in red paint” in February this year. Two woman, aged 22 and 24, were arrested following the act.

Glasgow University had been facing staff anger after its ruling court decided to ignore the results of a survey which found that around most staff (81%) and student (86%) respondents were in favour of completely divesting from arms firms supplying Israel.
The endowment fund was worth £262 million at the end of July 2024. A publicly available list of investments from 2023 includes shares in weapons firms linked to Israel such as BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, and Thales.
A University of Glasgow spokesperson said: “All research carried out at the University of Glasgow is underpinned by polices and a Code of Good Practice that ensures it is conducted to the highest standards of academic rigour.”
