THE King has released a £100 English single-malt whisky ahead of Christmas.
King Charles has unveiled the Highgrove Evergreen English whisky crafted from barley grown on his Highgrove estate in Gloucestershire.
Priced at £100 a bottle, the royal product will be available for pre-order ahead of its official release on December 4. A Balmoral version of the spirit is already available, produced at the Royal Lochnagar Distillery, just a mile from the historic castle.
The King's estate described the English whisky as a “collaboration between Highgrove Gardens and Cotswolds Distillery,”.

“This premium whisky is made from Plumage Archer barley grown at the Highgrove Estate and matured in an exclusive pairing of bourbon and STR red wine casks," a statement reads.
It adds: “The result is a rich and refined spirit layered with orchard fruits, honeyed malt, and subtle notes of red berries and spice.”
The spirit is made using Plumage Archer barley from the estate and matures in a combination of bourbon and STR red-wine casks, producing a rich flavor profile with orchard fruits, honeyed malt, red berries, and subtle spice notes. The whisky comes in a specially illustrated gift box, featuring artwork painted by the King himself.
The Highgrove Gardens website already sells traditional Scotch whisky, priced at £49.95 each.
The King’s personal wealth has jumped by £30 million to £640m in the last year, making him as rich as former prime minister Rishi Sunak and wife Akshata Murphy, according to The Sunday Times Rich List this year.
Charles, who acceded to the throne in 2022, ranks joint 238th in the list of the UK’s 350 wealthiest people and families, up 20 places from 258th in 2024.
The 76-year-old monarch, who has faced a challenging past year as he continues to undergo treatment for cancer, has benefited from the investment portfolio he inherited from his late mother for the bulk of his wealth, the newspaper said.
