A hotel in Scotland, which has been described as "outstanding in every possible way," has been named the quirkiest in the UK.
The world-famous Fingal Hotel in Edinburgh is aboard a former Northern Lighthouse Board ship.
Boasting some 22 luxury cabins, a multi-award-winning restaurant and an events space, the establishment was recognised alongside places across the country, including The Witchery by the Castle in Edinburgh and the Artist Residence in Oxfordshire.

Highlighting what makes Fingal in Edinburgh the quirkiest hotel in the UK, The Times said the ship has been "kitted out" with gleaming wood, curvy lines and warm colours.
Located on the Leith waterfront, the nicest of the rooms here are the split-level duplexes, which are said to "really capture a sense of oceangoing grandeur".
The restaurant is also "really romantic," with those booking special packages able to enjoy a private tour and dinner on the Scottish yacht.
The hotel also has a place in the hearts of the many guests who have come here, with one person calling it "outstanding in every possible way" on Tripadvisor.
They added that the staff here gave them the "best experience and service".
Another said they had an "amazing stay aboard the Fingal" and, from the moment they arrived, were made to feel "truly special".

They added: "Every member of the team was kind, and we really appreciated the friendly conversations and personal touches throughout our stay.
"The ship itself is beautifully restored with a perfect mix of elegance and comfort. Our cabin was spotless and cosy, and breakfast in the restaurant was good."
A third person wrote: "A truly unique small luxury hotel, close to the Edinburgh tram system and the Royal Yacht. The staff are very friendly, approachable and go out of their way to make you feel relaxed."
