JOURNALISTS are gathered at Downing Street, as Rishi Sunak is set to announce a General Election for July.
Sunak will make a statement in Downing Street at 5pm, Number 10 has said, amid speculation he will call a July 4 election.
The announcement may be a little delayed due to heavy rain in central London.
BBC News, Sky News and other broadcasters are showing the footage live from Number 10.

Speculation about an announcement mounted in Westminster today as Cabinet ministers were summoned for an unusually timed meeting, with Defence Secretary Grant Shapps and Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron cutting short foreign trips to attend.
