A NEW £90 million hotel and “unique” hospitality concept has opened in Glasgow.

The Social Hub – which made its debut last Friday – is the brand’s first UK location and will employ more than 80 locals.

Glasgow represents the 18th hub to open for the Amsterdam-based company, which was founded in 2012 by Edinburgh-born entrepreneur Charlie MacGregor.

Other hubs are located in some of Europe’s most vibrant cities including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Florence, Madrid, Vienna and most recently – San Sebastián which was inaugurated earlier this year.

Located in the Merchant City District, The Social Hub Glasgow features a combination of 494 hotel, student and extended stay rooms and spaces.

With room for up to 222 co-workers daily, The Social Hub Glasgow offers everything from flexible memberships and dedicated desks, through to 20 private offices, dynamic meeting and event spaces, together with an auditorium, a gym, restaurant and bar.
