One of the area's premier events has issued a call for volunteers to make this year's gala a roaring success.

Helensburgh and Lomond Highland Games is set to be held on Saturday, June 1 this year at Helensburgh Rugby Club.

The event is entirely run by volunteers and organisers said they particularly needed help setting up in the days leading up to the event.

In a post on Facebook, the organisers said: "The Helensburgh and Lomond Highland Games wouldn’t be the same without our volunteers. Can you help make this year’s games, the best games ever?

"Our Highland Games are entirely run by volunteers and they all help to make the day that little bit extra special. The Helensburgh and Lomond Highland Games are a celebration of Scottish culture and showcase Helensburgh as a fun place to visit."

They will also help with site clean-up on June 1, and then taking down fencing and stacking it on Sunday, June 2.

Volunteers get free entry to the games and a voucher towards lunch.
