AN “iconic” Victorian hotel in a village named one of the best places to live in Scotland has been put on the market.

The Royal An Lochan Hotel in Tighnabruaich is being offered for sale by property agents Graham and Sibbald on behalf of liquidators at the Xeinadin group.

The 11-room hotel, which is not currently trading, is located on the banks of the Kyles of Bute and had attracted “large crowds all year round”, the property agents said.

A self-contained charming 3-bedroom house for owners accommodation and a two-bedroom staff flat are also included in the sale.

In 2023, Tighnabruaich was named among the best places in Scotland to live by the Sunday Times Best Places Guide.
