Both Josh Campbell and Lewis Miller have 'a chance' of returning to the Hibs squad for Saturday's clash with St Johnstone.

Campbell has been sidelined since the Edinburgh derby on December 27 after being stretchered off with ankle and knee injuries, but has rejoined training over the last few weeks as he pushes for a comeback heading into the final weeks of the Premiership campaign. Miller, meanwhile, limped out of the 2-2 draw away at Ross County in March and did not travel with Australia during the recent international break, while also missing out on the 3-1 defeat at Rangers on Saturday.

However, as Nick Montgomery's side prepare for their penultimate pre-split fixture this Saturday at Easter Road, both players are in the running for the matchday squad. An injury update on the official Hibs website suggests the manager may be able to include them in his plans for the weekend.

Montgomery will speak to the media at his pre-match press conference on Friday, at which time he will likely provide further updates on their fitness. Hibs face Saints knowing that anything less than three points could be fatal for their aspirations of finishing in the top-half and pushing for European football.

The weekend loss at Ibrox, coupled with Dundee beating St Johnstone, pushed Montgomery's side back down to seventh place, one point behind the Dens Park club. Dundee have three fixtures remaining compared to Hibs' two, and the race could go all the way to the wire.

After Saturday, Hibs will conclude their pre-split schedule away to Motherwell, who Dundee will take on this weekend before rounding off with a postponed home clash with Rangers.

Speaking after the loss in Glasgow - a result which ended a six-game league unbeaten run - Martin Boyle insisted all Hibs can now do is focus on earning themselves two potentially vital wins.

"It's never nice losing games," he said. "It's a tough venue to come to - they are top of the table for a reason. We got back into the game but lost sloppy goals, we know that ourselves. We'll have to identify the mistakes. It's kind of repetitive, we keep saying we are losing sloppy goals. We need to tighten up. We came here unbeaten in six so hopefully we can get a run again before the split.

"We need to win the games, that's part and parcel of where we want to be. We can't be looking for other results. As long as win our games and look after ourselves, hopefully we can climb into the top six and have a strong end to the season."
